Tradition. Quality. Dedication.
Over eighty years of experience in the trucking industry informs our leadership team as they manage operations. We are familiar with our history and use it to our customers’ and drivers’ advantage. Meet our team, including third generation leader Mark Randolph, by browsing the bios below.
As a third generation leader of JGR, Mark Randolph has seen and done just about everything there is to do in a flatbed operation. He has seen the operations side of JGR since age 8, when he began accompanying his father and second-generation owner, James, to work. Mark currently oversees JGR and serves on the board for Daseke, Inc. He is a past Chairman of the South Carolina Trucking Association (SCTA). When he is not working, Mark enjoys golf, spending time on the lake with his wonderful family, and following Clemson athletics.
We are a family business, and I love being involved with every aspect of it.
Chief Financial Officer
Using his studies in business management from Winthrop College, Jimmy Randolph has worked at JGR since 1983, managing billing, owner operator payroll, accounts payable, and serving as controller/treasurer. As of May 2013, he is CFO. Jimmy has been married to his wife, Dee, for over 33 years, and they have three daughters and two granddaughter. When he’s able, Jimmy watches sporting events and plays golf.
I’ve enjoyed the rewarding and challenging experience of working alongside family.
Director of Operations
Ted Payne has facilitated operations at JGR since 2002 and has worked in the transportation and trucking industry since 1991. He works closely with mechanics, drivers, and our safety and HR departments for successful outcomes. Ted has an understanding wife and five children, with whom he enjoys spending time and attending sporting events.
I love that every day is a new challenge here, and I enjoy working with all of our team members.
Director of Human Resources and Safety
Mike Harlan joined J. Grady Randolph in 2010, using his experience in the transportation industry, SC Highway Patrol, and US Air Force to enhance our operations and personnel management. Mike has served as the SCTA Safety Management and Maintenance Council Chairman and Vice Chairman on numerous occasions. When Mike’s not working, he is blessed to be able to spend time with his loving wife, working out and being active.
I love the team atmosphere between key departments and the willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to make things work.
Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Limestone College in 1999. He uses over 15 years of auditing experience to support and lead our accounting department as they facilitate day-to-day operations and financial management. In addition to two wonderful sons, Jeff and his wife recently welcomed a baby girl into their growing family. When he’s not at work or spending time with family, Jeff is on a church-sponsored mission trip or playing basketball and golf.
The close-knit family environment is the backbone of JGR.
Director of Maintenance
James Lovekamp joined J Grady Randolph in 2016, beginning his career with heavy machinery and transportation in 1999 with the US Army, he utilizes his knowledge and firsthand experience as a driver, mechanic, operations manager, retail manager and fleet maintenance manager to oversee and enhance our maintenance department. He works closely with our operations team to ensure trucks and trailers are operational and available to meet our customers’ demands. James enjoys spending time with his loving wife, 6 kids and grandkids when he is not at work, as well as, playing golf and traveling with his bride.
The emphasis that we are all one team is a large part of why JGR is successful in what they do.
